Olive and Rufus began with a simple idea: to create responsibly made bags designed for everyday life — practical, beautifully made, and crafted with care

Inspired by French and British design, our approach is rooted in understated style and purposeful functionality. Every detail is considered, from padded laptop sleeves to intuitively placed pockets, so each bag moves effortlessly with you through the day.

From the very beginning, our designs were shaped by real life. Early versions of our bags were tested at home by our young children — who, despite the bags being a little oversized for, put them through more wear and tear than we ever could. It’s a process that helped us refine each piece to be as durable and practical as it is considered.

We design for everyday life — for commutes, travel, and everything in between. Our aim is to create pieces that are versatile, comfortable, and refined without ever feeling overdesigned.

Sustainability is central to what we do. Every bag is made from at least 85% certified Ocean Bound Plastic — recycled material that was once at risk of entering our oceans. These materials are carefully paired with high-quality components to ensure durability and long-term performance.

We also believe that how something is made matters just as much as what it is made from. That’s why we work closely with our manufacturing partners to help ensure every Olive and Rufus product is produced in a socially responsible environment.
